YOUTH PROGRAMS IN THE US
Million Member Assembly is a membership organization focused on improving the lives of children and youth, through development programs, and public policies. MMA brings solutions to pressing and dally challenges facing todays youth in their communities. MMA uses positive development approach to help young people in America avoid high-risk behaviors, including dug/alcohol abuse, sexual activity and school failure.
MMA works with and seeks the support of nationally recognized psychologists, researchers, educators and communicators who are committed to encouraging and supporting parents, educators, community leaders and other adults in their efforts to raise strong, healthy children and adolescents.
The core beliefs which motivate our services to youth and adolescents in the United States include respecting and affirming the diversity of our communities, recognizing and understanding the value and dignity of young people in America and acknowledging their potential to become healthy, responsible adults.
To support our mission and vision, MMA develops and finances:
Youth programs that promote abstinence.
Sports and clean entertainment.
Music education and preparation.
Drug and alcohol prevention.
Health Care and Better Nutrition Awareness.
Sexual Transmitted Diseases (STD) Awareness and Prevention.
After school programs.
Youth camps and counseling.
Teen pregnancy awareness and prevention.
Anti gang enrollment and participation.
Family support assistance for troubled youth.
Education and Training.
MMA assists youth and their families in overcoming the obstacles they may encounter, which can include family concerns, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health challenges, sexually transmitted infections, violence, social and economic inequities, physical and sexual abuse.
MMA coordinates youth workforce development investments, Training and career prep programs. These programs seek to create a collaborative approach to prepare American youth to be successful in a global, demand-driven economy and shape their business orientation for the 21st century workforce.
MMA focal points focal points in youth education and training programs are concentrated in areas of skill shortages, particularly in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
